Site-Specific Land Art | Noor Forest, North of Iran
Commissioned by the Nilmah Art Institution

Whispers of the Forest is a site-specific land art installation created in early spring in the lush landscape of Noor Forest, northern Iran. This work explores the symbolic relationship between death and renewal in nature, drawing from Iranian mythology and ecological cycles to evoke a sense of quiet resilience and spiritual continuity.

Using fallen and decomposed tree fragments, I shaped organic lines that extend from a living tree—suggesting an invisible yet enduring connection between what once was and what still grows. In Iranian cultural narratives, trees are often seen as sacred, embodying memory, transformation, and the bridge between worlds. This installation reactivates those meanings through a contemporary lens, creating a contemplative space within the forest itself.

The project embraces natural decay not as an end, but as a vital part of the process of regeneration. The broken elements become active agents of connection, whispering of unseen roots and emerging growth.
