A Nest for Nature
This installation draws inspiration from nature, emphasizing the importance of attentive care and responsible maintenance of our environment.
Over the course of a few weeks, I gathered dried sticks from the park, some of which I coloured in the studio using non-toxic paints. With the active participation of the audience, I created a nest around a tree during the Inspire North Art Festival at Orchard Pavilion, Downsview Park. The nest symbolizes the essence of life, growth, health, stability, and the inherent beauty of nature. The coloured circle surrounding it serves as a symbolic representation of industrial activities that exert pressure on the environment.
This installation was a process-based endeavour, serving as a poignant reminder that the creation of a home is not an instantaneous action, but a gradual procedure. Nature has provided us with a secure home, and it is now our collective responsibility to cherish and maintain the beauty of our precious abode.
