Ink Drawing Series
2019

This series of ink drawings explores the violent entanglement between hunter and hunted, captivity and control. Rendered in black and white, with the visceral fluidity, these images present fragmented animal bodies caught in snares, pierced by tools, or suspended in moments of brutal stillness. The drawings capture not only acts of physical domination, but also the symbolic rupture of the natural order.

Here, the line between subject and object is intentionally blurred. The hunter, armed and faceless, exerts power over the animal—yet the violence enacted suggests a deeper loss, one that implicates the hunter as much as the hunted. Trapped in this cycle, both figures become bound by the same narrative of control, fear, and vulnerability.

Rather than offering a straightforward critique of hunting, the series investigates the psychological and cultural mechanisms that underlie domination. The body—cut, caught, or dismembered—becomes a site of visual tension and philosophical inquiry. These “pictorial incisions” challenge the viewer to confront the aesthetics of harm, and to question who holds power, who is seen, and who is silenced.
